Calhoun County voters submitted a petition to the County Judge on Jan. 29 to create the Calhoun County Hospital District.
The petition is the first step in the process to create a taxing hospital district. The petition was signed by 477 validated, registered Calhoun County voters, exceeding the required amount by 97 signatures.
The Commissioners Court will set the election date.
